Astrology & Psychology

Finding the way home

Wikipedia defines Psychology as follows:

Psychology is the scientific study of mind and behavior. Psychology includes the study of conscious and unconscious phenomena, including feelings and thoughts. It is an academic discipline of immense scope, crossing the boundaries between the natural and social sciences. Psychologists seek an understanding of the emergent properties of brains, linking the discipline to neuroscience. As social scientists, psychologists aim to understand the behavior of individuals and groups.
Ψ (psi), the first letter of the Greek word psyche from which the term psychology is derived (see below), is commonly associated with the science.

It was in the year 1879 when the physiologist, philosopher, and psychologist Wilhelm Wundt (1832–1920) founded the first experimental psychology laboratory at the University of Leipzig, Germany. This date is considered the historical referent that marks the emergence of psychology as a separate branch of philosophy.

On the other hand, we have astrology, of which we have a historical background of its existence and practice of more than 4000 years ago. Famous astrologers in history we can name Michel de Nostradame, known for Nostradamus, Claudius Ptolemy, William Lilly, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson, each one of them known for other characteristics and for been participants in relevant world historical events.

Since time immemorial, man has been interested in the movement of the stars, but not because of their movement itself, but because it was a relationship between what happened in the heavens and what happened on earth. Although it may create controversy, astrology was the forerunner of astronomy. This is stated only for the simple reason that human beings always seek the cause-effect relationship in things. It is not common for someone to waste time analyzing something that has no consequence on their person or the environment. This is precisely the essence of psychology, looking for the cause that is causing a certain situation.

Having laid the foundations of what psychology is and its practical use, let’s see the parallelism with astrology and, with the natal chart.

When a person consults a psychology professional, it does so because there is a behavioral problem, a relationship problem, personal dissatisfaction, depression and/or several other situations that make it difficult to navigate the daily life. Usually, a psychologist is not consulted because everything is fine.

There are different branches of psychology from different theories developed over time to which each professional adopts according to their approach. Psychology tries to find the reason for the malfunction of the person’s actions through the relationship of past events and the present situation or environment.
For physical deviations from the normal functioning of the brain, there is psychiatry which uses drugs to correct an electromechanical malfunction of the brain, an area in which psychology does not enter.

When the person accesses a therapist, it is because it is seeking help outside its environment to understand what is happening and is trying to find a solution. Before psychologists existed as such, priests were usually the ones who gave this help, based on a religious approach. In the East and Asia, elders were the source of wisdom to turn to.

On the other hand, astrology, beyond the fact that it can be consulted in the face of a problem or a situation that affects the person, provides information and basic characteristics of the person just by consulting the natal chart. That can be done at any point during life.

We could say that astrology provides ‘preventive’ information regarding the characteristics of the person regardless of the state they are in. The natal characteristics are the basis with which we arrive at this plane, and from that moment on, it is indicating certain characteristics of the personality.

An example is worth a thousand words.

If in the natal chart the person was born with a Saturn opposite the Moon, this undoubtedly indicates a bad relationship with the mother. This condition could happen at a conscious or unconscious level, but the condition is irrefutable. To understand how bad this condition is, additional information including the houses involved and/or additional aspects in the natal chart have to be analyzed. Depending on the results, this condition can lose some weight or take on great proportions in the person’s life.
This aspect is part of the person, and the energies can manifest in different ways, but if the person knows their natal predisposition to this, it can be of great help to manage it over time.

Without trying to oversimplify the subject, let’s consider the aspects of Saturn and the human evolution process. If we talk about the natal Saturn-Moon relationship, at the age of 7 the native will go through a period that can mark the relationship with the mother (or mother figure). At 14 years of age another complicated period occurs, with the next one at 21. The emotional development of a 7-year-old child has been taking shape since it was born, and it is during this period that certain mental patterns are affirmed. At 14, beyond the hormonal change that occurs and the emotional imbalance that this causes in any adolescent, the aspect of Saturn in transit with the Saturn-Moon axis does not make this period any easier to handle.

If we talk about being able to handle the natal aspect, only after acquiring a certain maturity, the native can understand its own mental structure and from that point on see how this can be handled. It cannot be expected that a child or an adolescent can change a complicated natal aspect since they do not have enough life experience or maturity to do so. On the other hand, if the mother of that child is aware of this condition, she can work on her relationship with her son/daughter, since she knows what perception her son or daughter have of her.

What was mentioned is just an example, to give an idea of the type and scope of information provided by astrology.

In the same way that a psychologist cannot provide a solution to a problem, it can only work the way so the patient can discover the origin of the problem, similarly, astrology can provide information on the natal conditions a child, an adolescent or a mature person have to deal with according to its natal chart. Astrology will not provide a solution; it can only provide information for self-discovery.

When consulting a psychologist or an astrologer, in both cases, each one will be able to contribute in addition to their knowledge of the subject, their life’s vision, their own experiences, but is important that objectivity and neutrality has to be maintain in the consultation. In some cases, this does not happen.

Astrological Summary

Astrological Summary end of 2020, beginning 2023

Several months of 2022 were characterized by an unusual number of retrograde planets. From October 2022 onwards the planets gradually become direct completing the list by end of January 2023. For those who are not familiar with what it means for a planet to be retrograde, an article is attached that explains it.
In short, when a planet is retrograde it is when the energy is concentrated, it accumulates during the retrograde period and then manifests itself when it is back in direct motion.

Planets from the orbit of Jupiter to Pluto, it is not unusual for them to be retrograde for a period, what is unusual is when several of them are at the same time, and this occurred during much of 2022.

Let’s look at the planets that went retrograde during the year.

Jupiter – Entered the sign of Aries in May 2022, then went retrograde at the end of July and returned to the sign of Pisces at the end of October, being direct again and returning to the sign of Aries by December 21 when the winter solstice happens in the northern hemisphere and the summer solstice in the southern hemisphere.

Saturn – It went retrograde in the sign of Aquarius at the beginning of June 2022 and returning to direct at the end of last October

Uranus – It went retrograde in the sign of Taurus at the end of August 2022 and returns to direct after mid-January 2023

Neptune – It went retrograde in the sign of Pisces at the end of June 2022 and returns to direct at the beginning of December

Pluto – It went retrograde in the sign of Capricorn at the end of April 2022 and returned to direct at the beginning of last October

Mars is added to the list of planets that became retrograde in the sign of Gemini at the end of October 2022 and will be in that situation until mid-January 2023 when it changes to direct.

In conclusion, from the end of April with Pluto going retrograde until gradually the planets went or are going direct, it was a period that could be compared to stagnation.

The signs of Aquarius, Taurus, Gemini, Pisces, and Capricorn are present in this process.

Saturn does not get along very well with Aquarius which is ruled by Uranus. Uranus is sudden changes, flashes of creativity, freedom and on the other hand Saturn is structure, responsibility, and organization. Beyond that in normal transit Saturn is not comfortable transiting Aquarius, when it was retrograde it magnified the energy common to that position. Saturn will be in Aquarius until March 2023. It is a period of stagnation and should be used to try to reconcile differences.

Uranus transiting the sign of Taurus tells us about the problems with earthquakes, volcanoes, and other natural catastrophes on the planet. On the other hand, since Venus rules the sign of Taurus, and Venus has to do with money, finances, Uranus brings sudden changes to everything related. Going direct after the middle of January 2023, everything related to finances can have a very sudden change, and given the aspect of Saturn in Aquarius, we have to think that the change is going to the negative side. Recently, the great losses that large companies such as Amazon, Meta and others had, prompt them to reduce their number of employees. After January this situation may take on unusual dimensions. The same can happen with natural disasters. It is the period of liberation of all the accumulated energy.

Neptune transiting the sign of Pisces, it is in its sign, it put an end to the issue of the pandemic. The controls were relaxed, and the population changed the chip, mainly in the northern hemisphere where it was summer. Tourism returned with unusual force; it was seen as a liberation after the lockdown. At the beginning of December, Neptune returns direct, with which the release of concentrated energy can be expected. Although it is very rare that this manifests itself in another pandemic (you can see the articles related to the cycle of the pandemic from an astrological point of view on the blog), it can be magnified in relation to what is happening lately with heart problems, sudden deaths of people with no medical history and others. Things difficult to diagnose, which is something that happens when Neptune is present. There is a link regarding the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn during the December 2020, which may be related to what is happening.

Pluto, which is already direct in the sign of Capricorn ruled by Saturn, tells us about the transformation process that is taking place. Although Pluto entered direct a little over a month ago, its progress is slow, but it produces profound changes, mainly related to government and main corporate structures. If we connect the process that Pluto is carrying out (you can see the related article on the blog when Pluto entered the sign of Capricorn in 2008), with what is mentioned by Uranus, the changes that are coming are of great magnitude. Both governments and large corporations are going through a period of transformation, taking their structures to the basics and necessary for their operation. There will be no more money for growth or possibility of waste, this is a period of belt-tightening.

Mars transiting the sign of Gemini ruled by Mercury, will go direct in January 2023 but will continue its transit through the sign until the end of March 2023 when it enters the sign of Cancer. Mars in the sign of duality offers the opportunity to open new paths while one continues the current one. The great energy of Mars could be used to start new ventures and do things that one likes but did not have the energy to start it at another time. If you feel like doing something of the sort, use this retrograde period to plan it and once direct, move forward with the execution of the plan.

Jupiter, which enters directly into the sign of Aries, ruled by Mars, speaks of the beginning of a new cycle. If we consider all of the above and the beginning of a new cycle, the result is that we are heading towards something new and different. Although the economy rules our lives, when a serious health problem arises it seems like everything else takes a back seat. Already with the pandemic I have met many people who changed their approach to life. People who worked in different corporate or medium business activities, managed to make a change and started independent activities which they enjoy and making enough money for their needs.

The time may have come for humans become aware of what they are, the reason for this life and change the priorities in life. What place does materialism occupy in each one’s life? We know of people who have enough capital that they could not spend in 100 lifetimes. The question we must ask ourselves is if that is the essence and value of what a human being is, if that is what we were created for, and that was our purpose when we arrived on this plane.

This new cycle can show us that our ego should not be the GPS of our life, and if it has our control, we will fall into endless dissatisfaction and never-ending search for achievements that could make us feel full and complete.

While the planets continue their dance for which they were created, to the rhythm of the universe, astrology by observing them, provides us the necessary help to know how to move to the same rhythm as them.

Joe Biden – Lunar Eclipse November 8th, 2022

Joe Biden was one of the strong supporters of the war with Iraq in 2003. During that year there was a Lunar eclipse at 16 degrees of Taurus.
On November 8th, 2022, similar lunar eclipse happens, but with much more difficult aspects than the previous one. Coincidently, there is a national election for renewal of governors and representatives to capitol hill on the same day.

Both lunar eclipses impact Biden’s house VI (work and health) and XII (subconscious, hidden things). We can say today that Biden’s support to the war in Iraq was made with underhanded dealings (House XII) and affected his job performance at the time (House VI). Even if with time everything gets forgotten, lunar eclipses repeat in cycles of 19 years and some subjects reappear. Since the other planets involved in the eclipse change, the base of the eclipse remains but the overall circumstances have an additional effect.

The eclipse of 2022 has some hard aspects that were not present in 2003.

The hard aspects involve planets like Saturn and Uranus on one side, and with the Sun and the Moon, in addition to Venus and Mercury on the other.

The interpretation of the eclipse to Joe Biden can reach additional aspects to the war which was the main point in 2003. Since House VI has to do with job and health, currently health also takes importance, considering Biden’s mental health. House XII talk about the subconscious and provides an indication of mental problems under current aspects, something that has been in the news and is public knowledge.

Regarding the US election, the square between Saturn with Uranus and the Moon on one side, and the Sun, Venus, and Mercury on the other, talks about a reverse of fortune for Biden. We can expect big changes in Congress which will become head win for the current administration going forward.

We don’t have to forget that we are under the heavy influence of the Solar eclipse of October 25th, which presented the possibility of the US direct involvement in a war, and the current transits on the US natal chart with Pluto’s return as well as Neptune opposition.

The Creation

In previous articles we talked about computers and how they were created following the mechanics of the human body. First it was just the brain, later the peripherals. It may sound like science fiction, but it is not.

Concepts that today the common people have at least heard, regardless of whether they have knowledge of the subject or not, only 20 years ago they were reserved to sci-fi movies or a specific group of professionals.

Take for example the term ‘artificial intelligence’. Today most people have heard of it, but it is nothing new. This term was first used in 1956 at the Dartmouth Conference by computer scientist named John McCarthy.

The term referred to a device that could operate autonomously with some degree of self-determination.

The processing capacity of this device was conditioned at the time by its processing speed, as well as by the necessary energy to run it. The more processing speed and capacity, the more energy required.

Thus, the first computers were installed in large, well-ventilated spaces (because of their size and the heat they generated) and usually with a power plant dedicated to the device.

Today our smartphones have millions of capabilities beyond these first computers and they also include some artificial intelligence components.

Although the computer was created following the functioning of a human being, there is an insurmountable difference between both. The power of the human mind, as stated by Albert Einstein, as no limit and is capable of the development of consciousness. Possible but not guaranteed.

We see in movies and series how robots with artificial intelligence take over and control the human race and the world, but let’s ask ourselves the following question:

For those who believe in God and that we were created by him, could the human being become superior to its creator?

For those who do not believe in God and believe that we evolved after millions and millions of years from an amoeba to what we are today, could our creation (the computer) surpass us from one day to the next?

This is where human consciousness takes precedence.
Consciousness is not our brain; it is an etheric component which our processing center called ‘the brain’ and our body uses to develop and function. It works on this plane when our body has ‘energy’. Once the energy is not present anymore in this plane, commonly known as death, the consciousness passes to another energy plane, it is not lost.

For those who believe in reincarnation, that mind goes into an intermediate state until it reincarnates again.
For those who in their belief speak of being in another place for eternity, it is precisely the mind that moves from this plane to the next. Forget about the mechanical part.
For the rest, what are you doing reading this article?

Now ask yourself where does the computer and artificial intelligence go when the system is turned off?
The answer is obvious, nowhere, it has no mind, it has no conscience. It was only a brain operating, even with the most sophisticated devices attached to it, it is only a processing device.

In most of the articles we talk about developing and raising our consciousness, do you now understand why?

These is because regardless of your beliefs, the higher your level of consciousness when you leave this plane, the better your place will be wherever you go. Either for eternity or to return to this plane.

We mentioned in previous articles about astrology been only useful for those who were born and were on the earth plane, it was not useful for astronauts on the Moon, Mars or anywhere else.

Our body is governed by the cycles of the moon, and the other planets of the solar system. Cronobiology touches briefly about this subject. The energy of the Moon and other planets that reaches us acts on our body in a certain way. If we are placed on the Moon this relationship would change completely, just like if we were on Mars or somewhere else or without gravity.

Astronauts on the space station lose bone mass and have months to recover from osteoporosis caused by their long stay in space. With our physiology, there is no doubt that we were designed to be only on earth.

Since we want to go to space, and we are aware of our physical limitations, then we are developing a hybrid between a human and artificial intelligence. This is reflected in Elon Musk’s Neuralink project and others, as well as the development of smart prostheses that directly interact with our brain.

The result will be to achieve a functioning hybrid between some human parts (brain), and robot parts for the rest. This could overcome the physical limitations that we currently have for leaving earth for a long period of time.

Beyond scientific advances, we must not lose sight of our development of consciousness, which is what differentiates us from the rest.

As far as astrology is concerned, if all these changes materialize, something new will need to be developed in order for astrology to work. Astrology was not created for hybrids or to be used in another place outside the earth.

Time will tell what the future may bring.

The Power of Information

At some point we have heard someone say or we ourselves have used the phrase, ‘information gives power’. Knowledge can give us advantages to obtain the desired results in the decisions we make in our daily lives.

Without a doubt, during life one ‘learns’ certain things by different means. Some because they were specifically taught to us and in other cases, because once a decision was made, depending on the result we determine that it was good or not.
Take the case that things did not turn out as we expected. Why did this happen?

In general, doing an analysis of the past we look for the “unforeseen” or something out of our control that interfered and made things go in a way other than expected.

Let’s stop and analyze this phrase, ‘There are no disappointments, but only the result of false expectations’.
This phrase can easily summarize the negative result of something we programmed, and it didn’t turn out the way we thought.

Everything is information, everything that surrounds us in all aspects of our lives including the people we deal with, work, education, finances, politics, the weather, and everything in general provides us with information which we process and then we act in response to it.

It is basic to understand how our cognitive system works, beyond the fact that this is rarely mentioned except in circles that have to do with psychiatry or psychology.

We have a ‘personality’ and an ‘education’ which is our basic information from which we start to analyze and/or act every moment of our lives. A philosopher will see things from a very different point of view than an engineer, a soldier, a doctor, or a merchant, for example. Faced with the same situation, each one will have a different appreciation of what is happening. But if we analyze things from a ‘neutral’ point of view, we will realize that there is only one result of things. Each one will give it a value according to its understanding, but we are talking about the same thing. For each person there may be a different interpretation, but the reality is only one.

The idea of this article is not to go into the analysis of whether something is good or bad, but rather the importance of understanding the value of information before making any decision.

We have mentioned it in several articles, the case of going to the beach on a stormy day. We may not think about it, but even in that simple act, one is analyzing information. If before deciding on a trip to the beach, I see the weather forecast and the conditions are not right to go to the beach, then I change my plans. On the other hand, if I go without looking at the forecast and a storm breaks out while I’m on the beach, my day probably won’t go as planned.

This is a simple example, but it is clear that if we search for and manage information, it gives us an advantage and allows us to make a more harmonious decision considering the environment with which we interact.

Astrology is a tool that gives us information, providing ‘inside information’ about ourselves, that allows us to analyze our behavior and the decisions we take explaining even why we reacted in certain way. Everything has a reason; the information is there. Nothing happens ‘out of the blue’.

The key to live a full life, is to first know ourselves internally and consciously, understanding our limitations and our virtues, avoiding judging ourselves; there is no one to defend us from that.
That information, which is there to be known, provides the opportunity to work on our limitations and bring our potential to the maximum expression. Everything is within us.

Another aspect to consider, is the source from where the information is coming. Don’t neglect a source for the simple reason that does not make you feel good, analyze the information, be honest to yourself. It could be that always listening to what you like can compare to the ‘siren song’, and we know how that ends.

We move within energy cycles which can also influence our behavior, this is part of the information that we need to include in our analysis before making an important decision. Astrology also provides that.

Everything is information, the key is to know where to obtain it, select it and process it consciously.

Antikythera Mechanism

In the article presented on the Lady of Elche, we mentioned the relationship between part of the design of the sculpture and astrology, beyond the fact that its origin or antiquity is unknown.
In this opportunity we are going to talk about what could have been the first analog computer, which within its functions, had the calculation of the movement of celestial bodies.
We are talking about what is known as the Antikythera Mechanism. Part of this device was found in the remains of a sunken ship in the Aegean Sea in Greece, between the years 1900 and 1901.
Based on the analyzes carried out, the remains found date back to around 150 years before the Christian era.

There are astrological records from four thousand years ago, including ephemeris on clay tablets detailing the position of the celestial bodies of the solar system as far as Saturn.
Anyone could wonder how it was possible that ancient civilizations such as Assyrians, Sumerians, Egyptians, Mayans just to mention the best known, had the knowledge of the movement of the stars equivalent to that of our days.
The Antikythera mechanism somehow clarifies part of that doubt.

Through the studies, the age of the device was determined, but in no way does it speak of when this technology was created or the different versions that could exist of it, only conjectures can be made. But if we refer to the astrological antecedents, we can speculate that this type of device was already in use since long time before and by different civilizations. Any technology goes through a certain process of analysis, development, implementation and evolution. Who knows where the original version came from and which version or model the one found refers to.

Our present civilization is generally mentioned as the most advanced in the development of ‘Homo Sapiens’, but it seems that certain data do not agree. From the known information coming from accidental discoveries, one would have to wonder if the story we know is the correct one, or if there is another version of it. Human fossils have recently been found that, due to their antiquity and characteristics, challenge the well-known origin from Africa.

In the book Astrology in the 21st Century, it is stated that astrology is simply a system for measuring the movement of energies, where each celestial body has a particular energy which manifests itself in a specific way in the material world and in the human being.
The scientific information available today through quantum physics and mechanics, equipment that can measure even the sound produced by a human cell, or the frequency of the human heart, which can be detected from hundreds of yards from where the person is, identifying them better than a fingerprint, or a device to listen to music without headphones where people around cannot hear, it opens the door to another perspective very different from the one we had a few years back.

The question that remains unanswered until new information is found, is how ancient civilizations already knew the movement and effect that each planet and aspect could produce. Complex enought is to know the movement and another very different is the energy and effect that it produces.
As can be seen from the Antikythera mechanism, there was already ancestral knowledge that for some reason was lost and was rediscovered in the case of this mechanism, only around the year 1600. Just to mention other examples, what about the cement use by Romans, where the current cement used for construction can last about 200 years, while the one used by the Romans is still standing after 2000 years. The formula for the Roman cement still unknown.

Today’s society is 100% dependent on electricity. Everything that is produced and consumed at some point used electricity. The functioning of our society depends entirely on electricity being present and in enough quantity. Never before in the history of different civilizations, if we consider the day-to-day life of people, and the functioning of commerce or governments depended on a single man-made product.

We have achieved progress in certain aspects, but it seems that for our daily normal life, there is an ignored fragility. If something has not changed over time, it is the knowledge provided by astrology, which has always been in force and will continue to provide it. If there is no electricity, it will take longer to construct a natal chart by hand, but this ill not make any difference on the result. The knowledge will still be there.
