Analemma and the Solar Return
A solstice is the time when the Sun reaches its most northerly or southerly excursion relative to the celestial equator on the celestial sphere. Two solstices occur annually, around 20–22 June and 20–22 December. In many countries, the seasons of the year are defined by reference to the solstices and the equinoxes.
At this moment the solstice of winter in the northern hemisphere and summer in the southern hemisphere are happening. In the north it is the shortest day, while in the south it is the longest day.
If you take a picture of the position of the sun in the sky throughout the year as observed from a fixed location on Earth, you will get an image which resembles number eight.
It illustrates the Sun’s changing position due to Earth’s axial tilt and orbital eccentricity and is often found on globes.
Looks like not related and coincidently, the sign of ‘infinity’ in mathematics, also resembles number eight.
So, an ‘analemma’ and ‘infinity’ both can be picture with figure eight and they could represent a never-ending cycle. You don’t know where it stared because it does not have a starting point or an ending point. It pictures a continue and never-ending movement.
The analemma shows one year cycle, but if we leave the camera on for ever in the same place, the picture will look the same year after year in eternity.
The year cycle represented by the analemma is the solar cycle represented by astrology. At the personal level, it can be represented by the solar return, but only if you hace your birthday at the same location year after year. If you change the location the figure eight will change shape like the analemma.
Let’s stop for a moment and explain some important element of astrology that most of the time is not understood. Your natal chart will be drawn considering the location where you were born. Your solar return also takes into consideration where you are going to be for your birthday. The energy of the year is reflected in the yearly chart by planets and the houses where they are located. This energy is valid for the year between birthday and birthday.
So, if you have all your birthdays in the same place where born, you are going to be like the analemma where you path in life is predictable and predetermined.
But on the other hand, if you start changing locations for your birthday (because you know how to do it or circumstances make you change place) your path will not be predetermined, and there could be some important changes that happen to you during the year of the solar return.
In other words, you can take some control of your future and get out of the loop if things are not like you want them to be, and this could be achieved by analyzing your solar return chart upfront. By changing the location, it is possible to change the energy of the year and switch future energy, either bad or good, in another location in your chart that will have the impact that you like.
Let me give you a quick example, if in your solar return you have complicated aspects in your 4th house (home) and you don’t have children, you can relocate for your birthday to a place where you move that energy from 4th house into the 5th house (children). That energy will not find something to materialize, and you may just experience lack of creativity during the year.
Analemma shows the predictive way the universe works, but humans can exercise free will which allows them to manage their own destiny without impacting or going against any natural law.
Why do you think astrology was banned, trivialized and wrongly taught for centuries, because it allows you to take control of your destiny. The power is in you! Use it wisely.
The tool and the information are there, everyone is free to use it, it’s up to you, nobody else’s.
